She started off with a successful tea room called Tiffany's Tea Room. One day she realized the start rise of popularity of coffee and expanded the offerings at the tea room and then the Sip was born. She has dedicated her life to this business and expanding to to reach more people such as employees who love the Sip as much as her.
My name is Alec and I was born raised in Crown Point, Indiana. I own the Crown Point and Cedar Lake locations after working for the Sip for 5 years. The Sip actually inspired me to want to own a coffee shop because of how much I loved it. I graduated from IU and I was on my way to med school when I realized I lost my dream of owning a coffee shop of my own. I grew up working in the food industry working every role a restaurant could have. Honestly, my favorite role, especially at the Sip, is being a server because of all the amazing people I meet everyday. I am beyond grateful for the people who shop local and support us. I also am grateful for our amazing staff that make the business what it is today.
